Horseback Riding

My family and I went to Mexico in the summer of 2010. We went horseback riding on a Saturday at my Uncle Victor’s ranch. It was my two sisters, two cousins, uncle, and I. We had three horses, so two of us were on one horse. The horses’ colors were brown and blonde. The smell of the farm were poop, tortas, and carne asada. My cousins and I were so bored at my grandparent’s house. So we had an idea to go to my uncle victor’s ranch to see all of the horses. We walked to the ranch and it took an hour. When we got to the ranch, we decided to go horseback riding. I got my horse and we got two other horses. We had two people in each horses. We left the ranch with the three horses. We rode them for about an hour and a half. Then we gave the horses a thirty minute rest from the long walk. After my cousins and I decided to go horse racing. So we got one person on two horses and we decided to race. I went first against my older cousin but it was a tie. My cousins and I started to have more horse races. After the races, we took a break and went back to the ranch returned the horses. We got back to the ranch and gave the horses’ food and water. After feeding the horses, we put them back in their stables to rest. Then we closed all the stables and we went back to my grandparent’s house around nine. My cousins and I got to the house and it was an hour of walking. My aunts and uncles gave us a plate of food: rice, carne asada, tortas, and tacos. I felt like it was buffet on my plate and we ate out food. After we were done eating, I went to sit down for a while. My family and I decided to go home already because it was one in the morning. So we said, “bye”! To my grandparents, cousins, aunts, and uncles, it was an amazing experiment to ride horses. The next day, we woke up at nine and went to church at ten thirty in the morning. After we got out of church, we decided to go eat at my grandparent’s house to eat. While the guys and the kids went to go fix the fire up, the ladies and girls were getting the plates ready for dinner. After the ladies and guys were done getting everything ready, everybody got their plate to serve food. When we were done eating, we went to go walk around the city and went to stores for more food. My cousins and I went to the computers to go play games on them for a little bit. After we were done playing at the computers, we decided to go back to my grandparent’s house because it started raining. When we got back, my parents and I decided to home and pack our things because it was our last day to be in Mexico. We got home and I started packing all my clothes, shoes, and blankets. Our plane takes off at three thirty and we left my grandparent’s house at one. My aunt and cousin dropped me and my family off at the airport and we said bye to them. Finally, we got on the plane and the plane flew off but I had such a great amazing time with my family in Mexico doing a lot of things like the computers and horseback riding.

Big Changes in China (Gisselle Fernandez)

REFLECTION

All I know about China before this unit is that they made supplies that were made in the companies. I think now they have build a lot of things because China has build a lot of things and sold them in America. I would sometimes considered visiting at china to see how they made things and how much time does it take. Also I think that I have read about China it shows that they have made the supplies and sold them to America to see how much people buy the supplies. China had to lower the prices because a lot of people wouldn't buy the supplies because they were expensive to buy.

I think the Prezi idea was not really what I would go for because it looks like it was extra work and looked complicated and I don't know if I would change my mind to try it in the future. It was great working with powerpoint because its more easier and it makes sense. I think working with the easy Bib was not that good because I got confused at first trying to get the page . I would have done differently for the project is that I would have put pictures, more pictures, and more slides in the projects to make it more better.

                                                           The Church Retreat

                     This man lead the kids from confirmation to church retreats. He is funny , kind, hardworking, and caring. He is also tall, loves the confirmation leaders, and he is respectful. When the kids and the leaders get to the retreat in rancho alegre, they help everyone take out the suitcases out of the bus. They start having groups of eight and tell each other about themselves. the kids go to sleep like at 12 in the night while the leaders have meetings and getting the tables or chairs ready for breakfast tomorrow.

                    The next morning the kids get thirty minutes to get ready for breakfast, but whoever comes late to breakfast, they have to dance the t-cup song. During breakfast, Jim told the kids that the speaker is on and whoever wants to make a speech can come up to the microphone. Also he tells one of the leaders to say a prayer or say a prayer for our food and the kids. After breakfast, the kids and the leaders go walk to the woods and do activities about church. When they finished doing the activity, they come back to the hall and share some of the activities they did.

                    Next, the leaders send the kids outside while they start getting the tables and chairs ready for lunch. After the leaders were done fixing everything, they let the kids, leaders, and the other people to go find their names to sit on a table. when the kids and everyone else is done eating, Jim tells the leaders to take the kids to go play volleyball outside the hall. When the kids are done playing, they work on a worksheet and talk about what kind of bad stuff they went through and how will they change it. When the kids are done with the worksheet, the leaders send the kids go back to the cabins to get a blanket or a jacket to be warm.

                    The leaders get everything ready for dinner while the kids are standing outside. The leaders are done, they let the kids in to sit on a table to eat for dinner. when everyone is finished eating, Jim and the leaders talk about their bad times and what they go through. Jim told the kids that they aren't going through bad times too because they aren't alone. Jim told everyone his story and some kids told him that they are here for him no matter what. Jim told everyone that no body life is perfect because everyone went through a hard time.

                    Next, all of the chairs were in a circle and Jim told everyone to sit on a chair. The leaders put blindfolds on the kids eyes. Jim started talking on the microphone and he said I am going to read a story about a guy who had a friend who didn't believe in god and the friend visit hell and was asking for forgiveness. After the story, everyone took of their blindfolds and they started to pray or an hour or two. When we are done praying, Jim lets the kids go group by group to go get a blanket for the campfire.

                  Jim told everyone to meet at the campfire site to have a campfire. when we gets to the campfire site. Jim told everyone to write what are the bad things going on in the world. finally, when we are done writing and burned all the bad things. After that we started singing some church songs and started gathering like a family. After the campfire the kids and leaders go back to the cabins to sleep for the night.

               The final day they get ready for breakfast again and when everyone finished they start making nice speeches about everyone. After that Jim tells the leaders to go take the kids to play volleyball again for an hour and a half. We come back to eat lunch and when we finished eating lunch, Jim tells the kids to go back to their cabin to pack up to go home already. While the kids and leaders are waiting for the bus, they started singing the church songs. everyone started singing and feeling like a real family.

                finally the kids and leaders get on the bus and the bus leaves the retreat and ready to go back home. when they got to the church, Jim was surprised that the kids parents had balloons and flowers for the kids. Jim tells the leaders that he can see a lot of kids have changed through the retreat. he sees people with a positive life with positive choices in the future too. Jim told all the kids and leaders that we are like his kids and family too. Jim is so caring even though we went through a lot , we know we are not alone in this world.

My Myth Story

The Evil and Good World
                Many years ago, there was a battle between good and evil. The god that was good respected the law. These laws told people they needed to respect others and be responsible. The second god was an evil god that broke the law and did not care about anything. If someone did not follow the laws, they had to go to the evil world with the evil god. The evil world had black grass with a red sky. There were weird creatures and animals. In the good world, there was green grass with a sun and a blue sky. There were beautiful horses and unicorns.
 The good and evil gods would fight for their rights. The good world was always sunny, but the evil world started to rain and be cloudy. This is why the good world was the good choice because there is a lot of brightness and colors. However when the battle was over, there were a lot of humans and animals wounded, so they started building hospitals for recovery. Hospitals were there for when someone gets hurt during the battles. The good god came with his good people and animals, while the evil god came with his evil crew of people and animals.
 They started talking about the laws and getting their weapons ready. The evil god stabbed the good god and the good god fell on the ground. The good people saw that the evil god stabbed the good god and they started to attack the evil crew from the evil world. The animals from the good world started to help the good god get up and take him to the hospital. While the good god was at the hospital, the two worlds were fighting for their rights and their justice.
Finally, the evil world with evil people and animals were getting so tired of fighting and battling, they quit fighting. After this, there were less and less evil people and animals because all of them were getting killed or stabbed to death. So they saw all the evil animals and people getting killed and they stopped fighting. They gave up the fight to the good god with the good people and animals with the good world. The good world won the battle and the good god survived from the tragedy of stabbed. This is the world we live in now. We have colors, trees, and grass. We have more respect for each other
